My RUT950 has a broken connecton in "main antenna". It dropped to boat floor and brass connector "pop off" so that only white plastic inside remains. Can it be fixed by changing parts or is it gone?

Here is picture of damage, can this part be changed and do you have spare parts?

We have had 6  Teltonika RUT950 with the same issue, the mobile antenna connectors on the pcb board have broken off fortunately does not affect the WIFI aerial connectors for we don use wifi.. but often the mobile aerial connectors are not very stable

There is another older model RUT950 with the sim cards inside the device, the aerial connectors are attached to the circuit board, but the new version appear to be solder glued to the circuit board...

I think there needs to be a design change in these devices.

Hi,

I would suggest returning the device to the reseller and they should have their own policy on how to proceed when such accidents happen. It is possible to just solder broken parts back, but I wouldn't recommend doing that as it could damage the connector even more.

Hi,

I bought this from abroad, not from local reseller so it would not help at this point.

Our RMA criteria list states that only devices that were purchased directly from Teltonika can be returned and these apply for resellers, so as you didn't buy it from us directly but the reseller from abroad did - the only way to do it would be by contacting the same institution or individual that you bought the router from.

Sorry that we cannot be more helpful, but this is normal procedure and we cannot accept the device directly this way.

Hi,

Yes i understand, this was an accident and of course not under any warranty...

Question is can it be fixed or is only solution to buy new unit?

Depends on the damage itself and the specialist that would try to take care of it. If it's broken on solder point on PCB then it's possible to solder it back, if it's broken on the connector body then I believe there's nothing much to do, you would need a new whole connector to solder on the PCB.

Hi,

Thank you for the picture. It looks like it's not serious damage and could be soldered back on. So answering your question - yes, it could be fixed, the issue is to find who will fix it for you now.
