Hi

We user your RUT 955 routers on all of our sites, some with Dynamic DNS which is great until there is a power cut and the router looses the DNS link.

Another company do the same as us but the have added a work around so that the Router automatically reconnects to  Dynamic DNS when the power comes back on.

Could anyone please assist

Many thanks

John

Hi,

If you're having issues with Dynamic DNS reconnecting on start-up - you could try inserting the service restart command into a startup script.

To do so, go to CLI:

vi /etc/rc.local

Press "I" on the keyboard to start editing.

Navigate with the arrow keys to the blank line place, between symbol # and exit 0.

Type: /etc/init.d/ddns restart

Press ESC and type :wq to save and quit.

This will restart your service once again when the router is rebooted.

You could also set the IP renewal period to be shorter, this will allow the service to query more frequently.
