I am installing antenna Order code: 003R-00253 and RUT 850. The antenna cable length is 3 metres. I extended 0.4 m due to the need for conversion from Fakra D female to SMA female adaptor. Question: Is longer cable = lower performance or RUT 850 ?

Also, what is the best position for the antenna on the roof? Higher is better ?

cheers

Jean

Hi,

Yes, the longer the cable - the worse your signal quality is going to be, so you should always reduce as much length as possible.

The position really depends on what are you aiming at. If it's a directional antenna - you direct it to the closest cell tower. If it's omnidirectional, just make sure it's not higher than the cell tower as the altitude can also weaker the performance.
