Shall we interface the pin3 (input) with an optocoupler to protect the rut955 ?

Shall we also interface the pin4 (output) with an optocoupler to protect a circuit ?

I would like to make it clear that if the purpose of this opto coupler is only to provide protection to device , our device has surge protection for making device protect .

Input voltage range 9 – 30 VDC, reverse polarity protection; surge protection >31VDC 10us max

So, there is no need of any additional.
