Hi,

does anybody know which USB to serial chips are supported on the RUT955?

We have succesful tested a FT232 and were wondering if a CH340, PL230x or CP210x would work.

Thank you!

Hi,

As long as your serial device supports these values in this wiki: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_USB_Tools#USB_to_Serial

They should connect normally.

But as I see, for example, CH340 could require drivers and so on, so I can't guarantee it will work.

I think I did not state my questions clearly. Let me rephrase:

Every IC requires driver support by the linux kernel, hence the question which drivers are compiled into/with the linux kernel and which USB vid/pid combinations work with the router?

So it's not about the device which is connected to the USB serial connection.

Look at the RUT955's SDK, build_dir/target-mips_34kc_uClibc-0.9.33.2/linux-ar71xx_generic/linux-3.18.44/drivers/usb/serial will show you the list of builtin device drivers.
