Question

Hello, I am trying to figure out whether or not it is possible to use the RS232/RS485 connection port on the RUT955 as a virtual serial port so that I can program a physical device that is directly connected via either RS232 (or any null modem cable) to the RUT955,

Does anyone know if this is possible or even have been able to successfully use the RUT955 for this purpose?

Hi,

With RUT955 RS232/RS485 functionality you should be able to connect any serial device and configure it accordingly, depending on what type of connection you chose.

If I understood you correctly, you just want to control your device via the router?
