Hey there,

we are using the rut950 as Wifi accesspoint and it also is configured as wifi client to connect to a debug wifi network.

also we have a mobile sim card installed for remote access support.

Our problem is, that since we enabled also wifi client mode the complete wifi (also accesspoint) is dieing from time to time and kicks out every client.

I found this in the log file:

Hello,

Regarding the issue you are having could you share with me a copy of the troubleshoot file of the said device? Also if I am correct you want to run two access points in the RUT950? It seems you want to have two network sources for the RUT950 which is as default it is running as failover.

It would be best for you to try doing this set up:

1. Make sure you are on the latest firmware found here: RUT950 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki (teltonika-networks.com)
In upgrading the firmware it would be best to untick the Keep Settings to prevent configuration conflicts take note your config will be lost.
2. In Network > WAN set it up as Load balancing instead of Failover
3. Where you enabled Mobile and WiFi as WAN sources.
4. Scan WiFi and connect the Wireless wan to your Debug network so that it will be as a WiFi client of your debug network
5. Try connecting the devices that you want to connect and see if it is still getting kicked out.

Let me know the results

Regards,

Mellow

Thanks Mellow for your tipps.

So I'm not running two access points in the rut950. What I want to do is running one access point and at the same time connect the rut950 to a wifi network nearby. Is this a problem?

I will try your recommends but the device is currently not accessible. As soon as I'm on site I will try it.

thank you

Dear Mellow,

I tested what you said, and what I observed. If I change to "Load Balancing" and deselect the "Mobile" as Wan source the problem was solved. I did not see any more of this messages in the log file:

Wed May 26 12:21:09 2021 daemon.notice hostapd: wlan0-1: interface state ENABLED->DISABLED

So I think we can mark this as solved.

thank you
