Hello,

I am using RUT955 since a few weeks which is a great device at all.

I have some problems with transmission of GPS Data to AVL Server (Traccar). After transmitting data fine for a certain time, It stops transmitting and I get no position update in traccar any more.

Error in RUT955 System.log:

gpsd "failed to read received response of sent AVL packets in tcp form"

Error in Traccar Server log:

WARN: [579d350b] error - NullPointerException (CommandsManager:152 < ConnectionManager:144 < BaseProtocolDecoder:242 < ...)

After this event, there is data transmitted (visible in Traccar Server.log) but no GPS position. It looks like this:

0000000000000069080300000179b401a7f001060bb918200a747e001200eb0900410002020200150500000000000179b401afc001060ba824200a6cf7001300ea09003f0002020200150500000000000179b401b79001060b9792200a65ca001100e909003d000202020015050000000300003567

It seems the more positions are sent per minute, the faster this error will occur. With interval of 5 min, it runs the whole day, with interval 5 sec, it will occur after less than an hour.

Hi,

Could you tell me what firmware version you're using? If it's not the latest - please update it.

Also, do you have any other of our devices that you could test this on or it's the only RUT955?

Hello,

I am using the latest firmware. Version 00.06.08.1.

I have no further RUT955 device for testing purposes. This is my only device.

Since I updated Traccar and changed my connection to UDP protocol, it seems to work.

Now I switched back to TCP. Let's see if it will continue working without interruption.

Hello,

with latest firmware, latest Traccar, no matter which protocol, UDP or TCP, the following error occurs after a while in service:
"daemon.warn gpsd: Read returned an error, lost 40 bytes"

Sometimes it's less or more bytes but the error logged in syslog is still the same. After this event, there is no data transmitted to traccar and no further error message logged.
