Hello,

On some of our RUT955 devices the SIM card information (APN, PIN, etc) got erased. Could this be due to high flash memory usage (barely space left)? We install the routers in vehicles (eg busses), so there are vibrations and shocks too.

We also got CRC errors, which might be related to the issue:

Hello,

I have noticed that you are using the SDK version of 06.07.5 firmware. Would you mind compiling firmware from the latest versions of firmware, because running outdated software could lead to various issues? Also, there is a possibility that random shocks could erase router configuration and we have seen it happen before.

Regards.

Thank you for the fast answer.

We are currently rebasing to the latest firmware, so hopefully the issue is fixed there - the bugfix "Added prevention against possible unintended firsboot when JFFS2 magic number is invalid" sounds very promissing.

Regarding the "possibility that random shocks could erase router configuration" - do you have more information about this? Could this be fixed with software? (Just for clarification, by "shock" I meant physical impact, not an electric shock.)

Well by saying shock I was thinking about electric discharges. It cannot be fixed by firmware because it affects hardware directly and could possibly affect memory.

So the vibration from the bus should not be an issue?

Theoretically, it should not be an issue. I am aware that we do have multiple customers who use our products in buses without issues.
