Do you know what version of L2TP is available on RUT955? Is it v2 or v3? The firmare version of my RUT955 is up to date (RUT9XX_R_00.06.00.4_WEBUI)

Router use this L2TP package: "xl2tpd version:  xl2tpd-1.3.11".

What issue you want to solve and for what purpose you want to use router?

Thank you for your swift answer.

There is a misunderstanding here. Actually I wanted to know the version of the layer 2 tunnel protocol itself and not the version of the package installed on the box. 

I would like to create a l2tp tunnel, if possible over IPSec, between the remote RUT955 using on WAN side the SIM of a local MNO and on the other side (HQ) a router Mikrotik Access Router RB1100AHx4. This tunnel should be used to transparently bridge coulple of VLANS that are behind the RUT  to the HQ. The VLAN's IDs are the same as the ones from HQ and the subnets are also matching the ones from HQ.

For this "bridge coulple of VLANS " I'm not sure. Because basically IPSec remote networks should be in different subnets.
