I have a another gps source, that is streaming NMEA stream into the network, is it possible that the Rut955 can use this for

time synchronization and gps information ?

Hi Edvinas,

thanks for the information. What i mean, is it possible to use an existing gps source connected via LAN. The gps modem sends NMEA via Broadcast into the LAN. The Rut955 could use this for time and location services.

This would be perfect, then we must not install a second antenna in a vehicle (we use roof top antennas).

Ole,

Unfortunately RUT955 won't be able to collect NMEA data from other GPS source. Our devices can only collect and store NMEA sentences from router itself.

Although the router will be able to receive GPS data and time from your GPS device via LAN, the router will not be able to parse the data and update its location and system time from the received data.
