Hello,

Please check if the SMS message you are sending is in the correct format. By default the SMS text should be written like this: “admin_password command_text“, where admin_password is router's WebUI login password used for authorization. Depending on your configuration, other method might be selected. command_text is the specific command word/phrase.

If that does not help, generate a troubleshoot file by going to Webui System -> Administration -> Troubleshoot and send it to me in a private message.

Hi! can you clarify if the  expected vpnon syntax is

pass vpnon client_xxx

OR

pass vpnon xxx

with the legacy firmware client_xxx works only

can it matter that the admin password contains a '=' besides a-z,A-Z,0-9?

Hello,

The characters in the password does not matter. The command should simply be like this: pass vpnon - to start OpenVPN instance, pass vpnoff - to stop OpenVPN instance.

Yes, but what is unclear to me is that if you name your client connection 'vpnhost' than the format would be

pass vpnon client_vpnhost

or

pass vpnon vpnhost

if I save a connection and name it 'xxx' it gets saved as client_xxx

The command is pass vpnon xxx. Sending with client_ in front of vpn host will not enable/disable the instance.
