Hi folks. I've inherited an RUT240 which is installed in a caravan, it has a router on the lan port. The router has a number of wired and wireless clients.

I'd really like for it to get its WAN from any known and available wifi network first (this might be a domestic wifi or a mobile hotspot), failover to my cheap mobile in SIM1 and failover to the expensive mobile in SIM2

Is this possible?

Many thanks

Hello,

Based on your description, here are the things you have to configure:

  • Wi - Fi as WAN configuration:

Please refer to this video for configuration explanation.

  • Failover to SIM1:

Here is another video, explaining how to set up failover on your router.

  • SIM Switch to SIM2

Since RUT240 has only a single SIM card slot, the only way to switch between different SIM cards is by physically changing them.

Best regards,

Žygimantas

Thanks very much. I was sure the sim tray had space for 2x sims, maybe I got the model number wrong... I'll check it this weekend. Appreciate your speedy assistance.
