Hello:

On some of our routers that have very bad GPRS connections, we get a build of of hidden files in the /etc/config directory. The file names look like this:

.network.uci-RandomNumber

Does anyone know what these files are?

What causes them to be created?

Cheers,

John

Hello, could you provide more details about your case:

  • What device models are you using?
  • Which firmware version they are on?
  • Have you tried to read the contents of the file with command cat?
  • How many devices are affected?

Best regards,

Sorry.....

RUT950.

FW versions are RUT9XX_R_00.06.07.4 up to RUT9XX_R_00.06.08.6.

Most of the files are of size 0. The others are ~1300 bytes.

I've not looked at them.

ALL devices are affected. ~300 units.

Cheers,

John

Ok, I have checked....most files are empty, 0 bytes but about 20% of them are 1467 bytes and they contain a copy of the /etc/config/network file.

What causes this?

Cheers,

John
