Question

Hi,

I`ve a problem with a RUT 950 connection to an external WIFI as an AP. When reading the log it seems that the passwort is wrong but I`v double checkt it ten times and on all other devices it works. The passwort contains an "@" so maybe the passort is not hashed correctly becuse of that.

Anyone who can help?

Hi,

What authentication protocol is being used by external Wireless AP?
Is external wifi has a landing page option ( Does it require users to signup or log in after they enter the password)?
What firmware version does RUT950 have? Please upgrade to the latest firmware 00.07.02.01

What is the signal strength on the router?
Send the troubleshoot file via Private message. Please download troubleshoot file from System->Administrator->Troubleshoot.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I think its WPA2 protocol but not hundret percent shure. It`s a customers problem so I´ve to check.

AP does not requiere a login on an landing page.

Upgraded to the latest version to try but same behaviour.

Signal strenght of the Wifi is arround 70-80% respectivly quite good. The router is connected to PC with a cable.

Can you please confirm, what is the network of the WIFI WAN source and RUT950's LAN network?

Please make sure that both are on a different network. Please change the RUT950 network to anything Random other than 192.168.1.0/24, you can change it to 192.168.23.0/24.

Can the customer try connecting RUT950 to another WIFI WAN source? please share the results.

You can try upgrading the firmware and changing the LAN network of RUT950.

Change the channel to auto on the Networks->Wireless page. The wireless client interface is disabled, please enable it, after the above changes.
