Updated my RUTX12 to RUTX_R_00.07.02.1 and the speed immediately dropped from my average 150+ Mbit/s to 70-85 Mbit/s using the same setup regarding load balancing.

Using speedtest.com, there's no difference in using "single" or "multi" mode.

However. The amount of data are apparently divided more or less equal between interfaces (101.34 GB vs. 98.01 GB when I write this). Turning off one of the interfaces does not affect the speed at all.

Hello,

Load balancing does not increase available bandwidth, meaning that it does not split packets through different interfaces, thus the speed is not increased. Load balancing simply distributes packets based on connections and services, which allows better utilization of resources and improved availability under high traffic scenarios. You can read more about Load balancing in the following link: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/LTE_Bonding_vs_Load_Balancing.

Regarding speed loss after update, mobile connection quality is highly variable in general due to several factors such as weather, time of the day, base tower load, etc. You can read more about them here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/LTE_Speed_Discrepancies.

Downgrading my RUTX12 to an earlier firmware fixed the problem and my download speed are now again almost the double on multiple connections than what they were on the latest firmware.

Hi, may i know the following:

what firmware version did you downgrade to and could you please share?

I have 2 sims, should I enable load balancing to allow faster speed?

Regards,

Michael
