I have a RUT240. I would like to use it as a WIFI client - connecting to a WIFI network - to create a secure private local network (i.e use it like a travel router)

I successfully upgraded to the latest firmware (RUT2XX_R00.01.14.5). The RUT240 does not have a direct internet connection so downloaded the file via another internet connection. However when I use "Install Package" to add the Wifi_Scanner ("wifi_scanner.tar.gz" downloaded from the Package Manager), I receive the message "Invalid file". Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Hello,

The latest firmware version is RUT2_R_00.07.02.4, which you can download here.

Regarding the package, you have downloaded a compressed package. To get the file accepted by the router you simply need to extract the .ipk file and upload it.
