Every day around same time seeing: 2022-08-22 21:11:45 Failover Switched to backup WAN (mob1s2a1) 2022-08-22 21:11:41 Mobile Data Mobile data connected (internal modem) 2022-08-22 21:11:41 Network Type Joined FDD LTE network (internal modem) 2022-08-22 21:11:41 Network Operator Connected to Tele2 NL Tele2 NL operator (internal modem) 2022-08-22 21:11:08 Mobile Data Mobile data disconnected (internal modem) 2022-08-22 21:10:58 Failover WAN (mob1s2a1) is down, no more backups to switch
There is just one SIMcard which is currently in slot-2 (mob1s2a1).
That it happens at 21:10 is no news, that is visible in the log.
But at that time the log shows "Mobile data disconnected (internal modem) ", which looks to me "internal modem" is doing something. Why would an ISP assign a new IP? Isn't the router using dhcp for this and initiating a renewal?
Edit: In "General Settings" for the mobile interface the protocol is (default) "Mobile". I have no idea what that means. Amongst other options is also "DHCP". Sound more logical to me, but I'm no expert.
The Mobile protocol is used to give you the template to set up an interface, which can establish a mobile WAN connection.
Public, and specifically static public, IPs are not always available in some regions or by some providers due to the shortage of IPv4 addresses, that is why some providers settle for dynamic IPs assignment.
Ok, thanks for explaining. Last night it happened again, same time: 2022-08-23 21:11:51 Failover Switched to backup WAN (mob1s2a1) 2022-08-23 21:11:46 Mobile Data Mobile data connected (internal modem) 2022-08-23 21:11:46 Network Type Joined FDD LTE network (internal modem) 2022-08-23 21:11:46 Network Operator Connected to Tele2 NL Tele2 NL operator (internal modem) 2022-08-23 21:11:12 Mobile Data Mobile data disconnected (internal modem) 2022-08-23 21:11:03 Failover WAN (mob1s2a1) is down, no more backups to switch
