Hello,

Thank you for contacting Teltonika Crowd Support.

Teltonika RUT240 and RUT360 devices can be powered by a 9 - 30 VDC power supply unit through a 4 pin power socket.

It is worth noting that if you decide not to use the standard 9 VDC wall adapter and want to power the devices from a higher voltage (15 - 30 VDC), in this case a 24 VDC SMPS, make sure that you choose a power supply of higher quality. Some power supplies can produce voltage peaks significantly higher than the declared output voltage, especially during connection and disconnection. While the device is designed to accept input voltage of up to 30 VDC peaks, high voltage power supplies can harm the device. If you want to use high voltage power supplies it is recommended to also use additional safety equipment to suppress voltage peaks from the power supply.

For further details on powering options for RUT240 and RUT360, please refer to the links below:

Kindly note that you may use power cable accessories such as the ones below when you are not using the standard 9 VDC wall adapter:

Thank you for your reply!

I have tested SMPS for Power on surge on 24 V DC output. It is hardly reaching 25.8 to 26 V DC.

I am planning procure Power cable 4 way to connect to SMSPS.

Question: Does it improve Wi-Fi range if I use 24 V DC instead of standard 9 V DC adapter.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

Please be advised that using a 24 VDC power supply instead of the standard 9 VDC adapter does not improve Wi-Fi range. The range and quality of a wireless signal largely depends on the location and environmental conditions that may or may not interfere with the signal. Further details could be found by following the link below:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Maximum_WiFi_Range

The maximum Wi-Fi power is limited on devices based on the region and regulations. Wi-Fi range could be increased by using higher gain antennas. If you decide to use any third party antennas, kindly follow the recommendations available on the links below:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Third-party_Antennas

Teltonika Networks has a partnership with Poynting Antennas and the link below could be useful when choosing the best antenna for your application scenario:

A webinar on the use cases of Poynting antennas on Teltonika devices is available on the following link:
