These two device versions operate with different modems, and, in order for the modem to be able to operate in Amerika, it must have certain certifications. The 'T' variant, unfortunately, does not have these certifications and, even if you managed to get connected, you will eventually be blocked from the network.
There is no workaround and you need a device designed, manufactured and certified to conform with the requirements of American netwoks.
