Hello,

I have a RUT240 which came with an older firmware.
Issue is present both with the older firmware and also the RUT2_R_00.07.02.6

After configuring WAN port as LAN port (Disabling WAN, WAN6, adding eth1 to LAN) LAN port stops working.

WAN however works as LAN.
When connecting any device to LAN this does not get DHCP.

As a last resort I have performed a Factory Reset and tried the change again but to no avail.

Well, it does seem to work somehow sometimes.

Mostly after rebooting the RUT240 it seems to work with the devices connected at that time.

Unfortunately when you change devices afterwards the device seems to stop responding, all lights come on and after a few seconds the signal indicator LED's start blinking once every second.

Could there be an issue involving static electricity?

An addition to not getting any DHCP: the computer does not even detect the LAN cable as being connected.
This happens with multiple CAT6 ethernet cables.

Hello,

I do not seem to be able replicate your issue.

Have you tried connecting CAT5 cable?

Otherwise, I would suspect a hardware issue.

Best regards,
