Hi,

Here's a perhaps semantic comment to the manual section Mobile network type LEDs.

  • I just set up a TRB500 and noticed that the mobile network type LEDs were blinking.
  • The network interface MOB1S1A1 is set to Bridge mode.
  • The manual describes blinking LEDs as the "Device is connected to a [#]G network but hasn't received an IP address."

Analysis

  • At first I thought this was odd as the device provided internet access. Ergo, it must have an IP address.
  • When changing to NAT mode, the LEDs stop blinking. Hence, this setting ought to be the "culprit".

Suggestion

  • Perhaps the following text would be a more correct (or more clarifying) alternative to use in the manual: "Device is connected to a [#]G network but hasn't received an IP address or has assigned its WAN IP address to another device its IP address (bridge mode)."
  • ... or why not simply keep the LEDs turned on.

Hello,

Thank you for informing us about this discrepancy!

This may be a bug, since in v7.2.7 of RutOS, LED stays solid while the device is in bridge/passthrough mode.

Will update here on the information provided by our RnD team.

Best regards,
