Hello,

If you have not done it already. I would like you to update your device's firmware to the latest with Keep settings option set to off, reconfigure your device and test if the issue is still present. The file can be downloaded from here.

If the handshake still fails to occur, I would like you to attach a troubleshoot file to your question. Reboot the device, make sure there is no handshake, then access router's WebUI, go to System -> Administration -> Troubleshoot section and download troubleshoot file from there.

At the moment, I would like you to try the following to restart the connection. Login to the router via SSH and execute the following command:

  • /etc/init.d/network restart
If it succeeds, you can add it to a startup script in System -> Custom scripts to automate the reset.

Best regards,

Okay, ill do that. But do I need to update the device ? I mean like it took me days to configure wireguard and all that to make rdp from one to another and I had a handshake…

The suggested update will delete your configuration.

I would first advise to download a Backup archive of your current configuration from System -> Backup. Having a backup will allow you to revert to earlier firmware and restore current configuration.

Next, try the custom script option first.

If it does not help, update your device's firmware to the latest with Keep settings option set to on. This will carry configuration settings with the update. However, keep in mind that due to there being many changes in 7.3, your configuration may not migrate correctly and you may need to reset your device and reconfigure it from scratch. You should be allowed to upload a backup from previous version.

Otherwise, having a backup may simplify reconfiguring task, by copying configuration files from backup's /etc/config directory to router's via scp/WinSCP.

Best regards,
