I have a problem with the new firmware RUT2_R_00.07.03.2

In the older Firmware Version there was the field "Lookup Host". That´s missing now.

In the System Log I get the following error:

Sun Jan 15 20:53:37 2023 user.notice ddns-scripts[16187]: myddns: pid 16187 started at 2023-01-15 20:53
Sun Jan 15 20:53:40 2023 user.warn ddns-scripts[16187]: myddns: Service section not configured correctly! Missing lookup_host - terminate
Sun Jan 15 20:53:40 2023 user.warn ddns-scripts[16187]: myddns: pid 16187 exit with error 1 at 2023-01-15 20:53

I attached an image of the old Firmware Input fields, the new Firmware Inputs fields and the image of my provider requirements.

As an alternative I could provide the data as such link: http://<username>:<password>
But sadly the custom Update URL field doesn´t accept the ":" between username and password.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for bringing this up. The option is indeed missing.

As a workaround, could you access your device via SSH, edit ddns configuration file with a text editor, for example vi, as in example below:

  • vi /etc/config/ddns

Press i letter to start editing add an option under your configuration:

  • option lookup_host "Example_hostname_option"

Replace Example_hostname_option with your input. To save edited file enter :wq and press enter.

Best regards,

Thanks! That does the trick! :-)

It works perfectly on one RUT.
The other one uses the LAN IP as DDNS address. - both are configured the same to use public IP via . Wondering where that come from?
