Hi,

Is it possible to take a disk image of a RUTX10 that can be bootloaded.

We would like to manually flash the firmware to a known version, configure the RUTX10 and install some small applications, then program multiple units with identical firmware, settings and installed applications. If a bootloadable image is not the way to go, could you suggest another method to achieve this.

Thanks

Pete

Hello,

If all of the units are RUTX10 running the same or newer firmware, then a backup can be taken from one unit and uploaded to the others. This will restore all of the settings and will reinstall the packages (assuming the internet connection is available). Backup can be downloaded and uploaded by navigating to System -> Backup menu.

The firmware can be updated in bulk using RMS, if you're using it.

Best regards,

Thanks DaumantasG,

They are all RUTX10 units. I was hoping for a way to have known identical units. If the packages are installed over the internet, is there a chance that a later package may be installed. Also, we have our own executable files in the RUTX10. I was hoping for a way to 'clone' a RUTX10 with minimal user/UI interaction.

Thanks

Hello,

Another option could be to use our SDK to compile your custom firmware with the needed packages and scripts and simply upload it as firmware to each device.

This option would allow for greater customization and the compiled firmware can be uploaded to any RUTX device.
