Hi,

Just got an RUTX50 and an external antenna from Panorama (LGMDM4B-6-60-24-58) that should be compatible.

In the manual for the antenna, (page 4), it specifies that the 4x4 cellular cables should be connected in pairs of A-B/C-D for best performace.

Not sure how to do that on the RUTX50 since it only has markings with "Mobile" on all 4 ports.

Any ideas on the best way to connect?

Ingemar

Hello,

The differentiation of antenna connector pairs is important, if you intend to use it with devices, which only support 2x2 MiMo, but have two separate radios, only one of which is used at any time instance. From Teltonika catalogue of products, RUTX12 would utilize such antenna configuration, and labeling of the pairs would mater, as it has two modems, each with two antenna connectors.

In case of RUTX50, since it utilizes 4x4 MiMo, all of the antenna channels on the device have a differing purpose, thus, it only matters to have all of the connectors attached.

Best regards,

Hi, thank you for your answer. Regarding the connectors is it possible to use the X50 with only 1 pair of antennas? Is it required to us a 4x4 Mimo Antenna? We have it installed with one 2x2 Mimo Antenna and the 5G Band is working pretty poor. It would be awesome to have the connectors labled like Ingemar suggested (eg. A-B/C-D) to clearly indicate whats needed. Or something like "If you intend to use 4G Band, Connector A or B need to be connected"

Hello,

Apologies for the late reply.

It is possible to have decent mobile connectivity, using only a pair of connectors. In particular, antennas must be connected to the most left and right connectors, as these are primary receiving and transmitting channels for all frequency bands.

You can find a more detailed description of the purpose of each connector in this thread.

Best regards,
