Dear Support,

we run several RUT240 routers which we want to connect to your RMS. As it turns out, for one of them we unfortunately didn't record serial number, MAC address etc., and since it is operating at a rather remote location it is anything but straightforward to physically access the router and retrieve that information. While I succeeded in obtaining the serial number by reading out the /etc/config/hwinfo file via SMS commands, I didn't find a way to also obtain the MAC which is needed to connect to RMS. Is there any way to obtain the MAC address without having to physically get to the router? We habe no VPN access, public IP for the SIM card etc., so SMS commands are presently the only way to contact the router.

Best regards

Hello,
Could you please try the following SMS command:

  • <device_password> monitoring_status

Replace <device_password> with the password you use to login to the device.

It should return serial number and LAN MAC.

Best regards,
