Hi,

I'd like to configure a TRB245 to output NMEA messages through its serial interface (RS232).

Is this possible?

Many thanks.

Hello,

Yes, this is possible.

To do so:

  • Go to the "Services -> Serial Utilities -> OverIP" menu. Create a new rule and set your desired RS232 settings (e.g. baud rate). Select "Mode - Server" and enter any random TCP port, e.g. 5000.
  • Go to the "Services -> GPS" menu and enable GPS functionality.
  • Go to the "Services ->GPS -> NMEA" menu:
    • In the "NMEA forwarding" section:
      • Enable the functionality
      • Set Hostname to router's LAN IP address, default 192.168.1.1
      • Set Port to the value, as in the "Services -> Serial Utilities -> OverIP" menu (e.g. 5000)
    • In the "NMEA Sentence Settings" section, enable forwarding of the desired NMEA sentences.
