Question

In RMS 4.20.1 the Router Description field is missing or hidden together with the possibility to create timed device backup .

Router description field was really useful to keep notes about connections or other. We have no more such possibility now and all the data in it is miss.

Possibility to restore it??

Hello,

The last RMS update has made some slight changes to the UI, which must be the reason why you can no longer find the description field on your default home page preset.

Please follow the instructions below to get the description field back to your home page preset:

1. Go to MANAGEMENT => Devices => Page settings (image_1)
2. Choose Table Presets, then click on Create preset (image_2)
3. Give your new preset a title, select Default under the "Set fields from select preset" option, add the description field to the already selected fields, and click Save (image_3)
4. Select your new preset, and click Save (image_4)
5. Your description field should now appear on your home page (image_5)

As for periodic backups, you need to select a device (or more) for it to appear above your device list under the Actions tab (image_6)

Thanks for the update this make some sense.

But do you think it's possible to see Description field in the router detail page which gives more help, for example under the General Information box like in the attached image    See Image

Hello,

Yes, it is possible by adding a custom box to the device detail page.

Please follow the steps below:

• Go to your Device detail page => General, click on ADD CUSTOM BOX (image_1)
• Give the new box a title, search for "description" and select it, then click save (image_2)
• Click on EDIT BOXES to move the box up, for better visibility (image_3)
