Hello Karsten,

I have the same problem. How can I reset the device to "User's defaults configuration"?

Thanks, Marc

Hi Marc,

You may follow this link to the manual for the reset options under General:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT956_Administration

Before you should have saved a default configuration by following the instructions that can be found here:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT956_Backup

Hello,

First of all, could you please try recovering the device by following the bootloader procedure? Instructions are available here.

If the issue persists and you are unable to login into the WebUI, could you please access the device via CLI/SSH and execute the following command?:

  • hexdump -C /dev/mtd1

When accessing the device via CLI/SSH and prompted to log in, use 'root' as the login username. The password required will be the same password used for accessing the WebUI.

Please, send me the output of this command via private message.

Kind Regards,

Andzej

Hello Andzej,

Thank you very much for your fast reply and your support.

I managed to log in after I reset to "User's defaults configuration".

But I am still wondering why this happened. Do you have any idea?
I want to avaid facing this issue again.

Hello,

Is the device functioning properly at the moment?

It's hard to say exactly what caused the issue. Several potential factors can be involved, like a firmware update, configurations, issues with one of the packages, bugs, corrupted files, etc. In some cases, issues like these may arise when updating the firmware while keeping the existing settings, especially if there is a significant difference between the current and new firmware versions.
