I saw someone in the Openwrt forums mentioned that he compiled firmware for rut950. I cannot find it now and not sure how reliable it is. Honestly, I don't feel replace pure OpenWRT required since RutOS basically the same with simple UI modifications and pre-configured packages for the hardware. but I noticed after update to latest version UI became a little bit slow. I ran pure Openwrt on many old routers with lower specs and it ran smoothly. I think teltonika better address this issue. other than that I don't feel pure OpenWRT necessary.

you can use openwrt factory firmware to flash over bootloader or upload openwrt sysupgrade firmware to router and force upgrade, recommend to do not keep settings.
