Same question as:

But different device, I'm on the RUTX11 device

Hello
first make sure your RUTX is running with the latest firmware version. You can download it here.
Navigate to the menu Network> Interfaces> MOB1S1A1 and change PDP Type. Available options IPv4, IPv6, IPv4/IPv6. The PDP specifies what type of address is requested from the operator.
Ask your operator if he can provide you with IPv6 service and if it is activated.

Regards.

Thanks for quick reply,

I'm on the latest firmware already and I have tried using the PDP value.

It's set to IPv4/IPv6 and if I chose IPv6 it get stuck on state disconnected.

I got a Huawei mobile router (Huawei b535) from my ISP and now when hooking up to that router again to test I seem to get an IPv6-address, but trying ipv6-test.com doesn't yield me any public ip. And further googling showed me that the address I got from the router was a ULA-address (Unique Local Address) fc00::/7

I'll contact my ISP and see what can be changed as I'm able to get an IPv6-address on my phone that has the same ISP.

Thanks for your help and I'll get back if I have further questions.

I got another APN name when investigating the Huawei router, bredband.tre.se instead for data.tre.se that was aquired default.

Changing that and waiting a while gave me an IPv6 address on the router. But still no IPv6 on the LAN-client, then I changed the DHCP-server to use mode "Server" instead of "Relay" and now it was working for a while but then the router rebooted and now lost the IPv6-address. Is there any way to retry getting a new IPv6-address as it seems now to have reverted to just going IPv4.

Seems that the router is unable to get the IPv6 link up, I'll call the ISP tomorrow and see what they can see at their end.

I called my ISP and they told me to try the APN data.tre.se and see it it did work better. And now my router seems to be able to aquire an IPv6-address.

My android devices pick up straight away the IPv6-address and https://ipv6-test.com/ shows it's online.

However it seems to be some issue with my windows machine, it doesn't seem to be able to get any IPv6-address. I have tried changing the DHCPv6 to server but still no luck.

Hi,

Please download router's troubleshoot file via WebUI (System -> Administration -> Troubleshoot) once SIM card is inserted and gets IPv6 address. Send it to me via Private Message.

Heya,

Thanks for the response, but I have found the reason for the issue. It's my employer's laptop I'm on and it seems they had disabled IPv6 by using this registry key.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929852/guidance-for-configuring-ipv6-in-windows-for-advanced-users

I have set it to 0 instead of the 255 I had previously and now I seem to get an public IPv6-address, but it seems to not be able to reach internet by either ping or ipv6-test.com page.

We can put that issue to rest as it seems my android devices and linux-machines are able to get IPv6 fully working.

It can be some firewall on the windows machine that interfere and I cannot change the settings of it.

Thanks for your assistance and everything so far

For future reference.

I was able to get it working now, so the issue was on the windows end. It seems the Disable IPv6 registry value got reset to 255 after reboot, so changing it back to 0 and disable network interface and enable again gave me a public IPv6-address and I was able to get online on ipv6-test.com

The device I had was faulty as it kept rebooting spontanously so now after getting my device back from repairs the findings I had reported here in the thread is back.

Previously the device rebooted spontanously so the IPv6 stack got reinitialized so it got back online again. But now it seems that after a while my device looses IPv6 capability.

I still have a IPv6 assigned on the device but when trying to ping I just get this error unless I manually reboot:

root@Teltonika-RUTX11:~# ping6 ftp.sunet.se
PING ftp.sunet.se (2001:6b0:19::165): 56 data bytes

% ssh 192.168.1.1 -l rootroot@Teltonika-RUTX11:~# ping6 ftp.sunet.se

Hello,

Please update the device to the latest firmware version (RUTX_R_00.02.05.1): https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_Firmware_Downloads

If the error occurs again, please download the router's troubleshoot file via WebUI (System -> Administration -> Troubleshoot) once the SIM card is inserted and gets an IPv6 address and one more when issue appears. Send it to me via Private Message.

Kind regards.
