Hi there!

We noticed that when configuring (a WPA2-locked) wifi in the new RUT241, it causes the creation of an open RUT241 ssid as well!

Why is that? This is really dangerous for the data consumption!

Hello,

Could you tell, which firmware version does this happen on?

Also, could you provide exact steps to reproduce the issue?

Best regards,

Hi, and thank you for the fast reply,

The firmware version is RUT2M_R_00.07.02.3.

Can not really recall the exact steps, but it was pretty straight forward:

 - changing the password of the wifi, and enabling the interface

It may be of use that we used an already-configured office wifi network to connect to the unit and set it up.

Cheers,

I was unable to replicate this. Could you update to RUT2M_R_00.07.02.6 and see if the same thing happens? If an unprotected access point is created, I would like you to generate and attach a troubleshoot file to your question. To generate the file, access router's WebUI, go to System -> Administration > Troubleshoot section and download troubleshoot file from there.
