Question

Running RUTX14 with latest Firmware and try to add new serial configuration under Serial Utilities.
Device Name box is empty. If I understood the manual correct it should show an rs232_usb.
Even downgrading the firmware doest help.

Correct, the name should be similar to the one you mentioned. Could you make sure, that the device is connected in the sequence:

• Plug the Serial converter into the device;
• Navigate to Services → Serial Utilities → ...;

If it does not show up, could you try plugging a USB Flash drive into the USB port and checking the Services → USB Tools → General to check if it shows up?

If it does:

• This most likely means, that the USB to Serial converter used is either not supported, or defective. Please try it on another device (e.g. a PC);

If it does not:

• This could indicate a deeper software/hardware issue. Try reinstalling the latest firmware version (RUTX_R_00.07.04.1) using the bootloader procedure described here.
